December 2024 saw approximately USD 665 million in transactions across Vietnam, with the Technology and Agriculture & Food sectors driving significant investment activity.

Vietnamese agritech startup Techcoop successfully raised USD 70 million in a Series A funding round, marking the largest agritech Series A investment in Southeast Asia to date. The round comprised USD 28 million in equity funding and USD 42 million in debt financing, led by TNB Aura and Ascend Vietnam Ventures (AVV). The funds will be allocated to technology investment and the development of export infrastructure, reinforcing Vietnam’s role as an emerging agritech hub.

Leading Data and AI company ADA, recognized as Asia’s largest integrated e-commerce provider, has acquired Customore, an advanced platform specializing in e-commerce data consolidation. This strategic acquisition positions ADA to introduce a next-generation Intelligent Commerce solution for the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry, leveraging AI-driven predictive analytics, data insights, and optimized e-commerce operations.

Nvidia has acquired VinBrain, an AI-driven healthcare startup previously owned by Vietnamese private conglomerate Vingroup. Specializing in medical AI solutions, VinBrain developed technologies aimed at enhancing efficiency for healthcare professionals and improving patient outcomes. Following the acquisition, Nvidia announced plans to establish two AI research and data centers in Vietnam, solidifying its commitment to expanding Vietnam’s AI ecosystem and fostering innovation in the region.

Vietnamese e-commerce enabler OnPoint, backed by SeaTown Holdings, has acquired CREA, a Thailand-based e-commerce solutions provider. This move establishes a strong regional digital commerce platform, supporting over 250 brands with expertise in live streaming, warehousing, and end-to-end e-commerce management. With a core focus on millennials and Gen Z consumers, the newly merged entity aims to deliver innovative retail solutions powered by digital engagement.

Vietnam’s foodtech startup Kamereo, a B2B e-commerce platform specializing in food supply, has secured USD 7.8 million in Series B funding. Investors include Sumitomo Corporation, Inspire Co., Ltd., SMBC Venture Capital Co., Ltd., Mitsubishi UFJ Capital Co., Ltd., Reazon Holdings, Inc., and several individual investors. The funding will be strategically utilized to expand product offerings, introduce new services, and enhance platform features with innovative solutions to optimize supply chain operations.

Vietnamese agritech startup Enfarm secured seed funding from Touchstone Partners, with participation from Aiviet Venture and Conservation Vietnam. Founded to address inefficiencies in traditional farming, Enfarm offers data-driven solutions to optimize crop cultivation, reduce agricultural waste, and improve fertilizer usage, ultimately enhancing productivity while minimizing costs. The new funding will facilitate business expansion, enabling Enfarm to scale operations, develop new crop technologies, and penetrate additional ASEAN markets.
